About
Bentley Tibbs is an award-winning residential architect based in Dallas, Texas, known for designing modern homes that are deeply personal, richly detailed, and quietly powerful. With over three decades of experience, he has completed more than 50 new construction homes and just as many remodels — each one crafted with sensitivity, precision, and an unwavering respect for the people who live in them.
Bentley is as much a listener as he is a designer. He believes that great architecture starts not with blueprints, but with questions — why are you building? What will this home hold for you? From there, he shapes environments that reflect his clients’ aspirations and lives, often staying with a project until the final box is moved in. He hand-draws everything, favoring process and presence over flash and software.
While his style is rooted in modernism, Bentley gravitates toward richer, moodier material palettes and layered experiences. He’s known for rejecting the clinical “all-white” aesthetic, instead crafting warm, inviting spaces that balance elegance and soul. Colleagues describe him as a “Southern modernist” — someone who brings clarity without coldness and polish without pretense.
Now expanding his practice to New York City, Bentley brings with him a distinctly human-centered approach and a love for the city’s rhythm, neighborhoods, and creative culture. Whether it’s a townhouse renovation in Brooklyn or a bespoke apartment in Manhattan, he seeks clients with vision, emotion, and a little sparkle — clients who want a home that is more than just architecture.
